MG HS PHEV

MG Motor UK has secured a major victory at the What Car? Electric Car Awards 2026, taking top honors across three distinct categories. Evaluated by What Car? experts through rigorous real-world testing across 15 categories, MG’s electrified lineup stood out for its exceptional value, range, and practicality.

he winning lineup includes the newly launched MG4 EV Urban (Best Electric Small Car), the MG HS PHEV (Best Hybrid Family SUV)—retaining its title for the second consecutive year—and the brand’s first-ever large seven-seater, the MGS9 PHEV (Best Hybrid 7-Seat SUV).

"Electrification is at the heart of MG's model range, with over 91% of our new car sales now featuring an electrified powertrain—whether Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, or fully electric," said David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK. "This trio of awards proves that our strategy of designing and developing cars in Europe for Europe is creating class-leading vehicles our customers love."
