Your vehicle service takes a detailed look at key functions and components of your car to ensure they are roadworthy and safe. This includes checking tyres, oil levels, braking and much more.
Servicing costs vary from dealership to dealership, as well as depending on the make and model. A member of our team will be able to advise you on the cost of a service with WLMG.
Car servicing is essential for the on-going performance, reliability and safety of your vehicle. What’s more, many purchasing agreements require you to conduct regular servicing or risk being in breach of contract. Servicing also helps maintain resale value should you wish to sell.
Oil changes should occur on a regular basis - preferably every 5,000 miles - and should always be reviewed prior to long road trips and during winter weather.
A service warning light is usually fitted to every vehicle, which will highlight when you are due your next service.
Unless stated by the terms of your purchasing contract, there’s no reason for you to have your vehicle serviced by a main dealer. There are plenty of advantages of doing so, however, with genuine manufacturer parts and accessories available.
Most vehicles require servicing every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes sooner.
Failing to get your car serviced may lead to you being in breach of any purchase agreement and can lead to expensive mechanical repairs further down the line. What’s more, it may also impact the ability to sell for the best price in the future.
Unlike servicing, an MOT test certificate is a legal requirement, as it demonstrates the roadworthiness of your vehicle for use. A MOT test should be completed every 12 months on all vehicles aged over three years.
A typical MOT test should take no longer than an hour.
MOT is short for the Ministry of Transport.
As soon as your vehicle is above three years of age, you will be legally required to take an MOT test every 12 months.

Financial Disclosure
WLMG Limited is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd, who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows WLMG Limited to act as a credit broker, not as a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders. We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
