After three days of rigorous real-world testing, the UK’s leading motoring publication delivered a definitive verdict, concluding that the MG HS PHEV is simply: “The best plug-in hybrid you can buy right now.”

This extraordinary win comes hot on the heels of back-to-back success at the What Car? Car of the Year Awards, where the MG HS PHEV was named Best Plug-in Hybrid of the Year for both 2025 and 2026.

Unbeatable Value, Unmatched Range

The Auto Express megatest subjected 16 major plug-in hybrid drivetrains to intensive testing across electric range, hybrid economy, refinement, and everyday usability. The MG HS PHEV comfortably stole the spotlight:
