Flagship MG Cyber Concept explores the future of high-performance, D-segment electric SUVs.
Robotic "Future Motion Show" and MG's advanced production lineup showcase a masterclass in AI, hybrid, and EV engineering.
Marking another landmark moment in its storied century-long history, MG has officially unveiled two exciting concept cars in their world debuts at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Seamlessly blending sporty heritage with next-generation EV technology, these concepts offer a definitive preview of MG's future design trajectory—where "inheritance meets innovation."
In tandem with these futuristic concepts, MG is showcasing its technological prowess via state-of-the-art robots in its interactive Future Motion Show, alongside six of its most advanced production Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), Hybrid+, and Electric Vehicles currently available.
The MG GO! concept car is more than just a preview of a new B-segment electric hatchback launching in 2027; it is a promise to bring genuine aspiration and emotional desire to the mainstream EV market.
Designed entirely by the team at the MG Design Centre in London under Design Director Carl Gotham, the MG GO! features a clever mix of retro-futuristic styling. It draws inspiration from MG’s most elegant, youthful mid-20th-century models—most notably the iconic MGB GT, alongside nods to the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR, and MG EX4.
Rather than a nostalgic showpiece, the MG GO! is poised, playful, and contemporary. Its clean, deliberate design language avoids excess, proving that everyday commuter cars can possess distinct personalities and form deep emotional connections with their drivers.
"With MG GO!, we wanted to create something compact and contemporary, but also warm, expressive, and immediately likeable," said Carl Gotham, Design Director of Advanced Design, London. "It is not about looking back for its own sake, but about capturing some of the clarity, charm, and emotional appeal that have always made MG so distinctive, and reinterpreting that to create something with strong charisma."
Conceived as the flagship expression of the modern MG brand, the MG Cyber Concept is a bold exploration of what a future large, D-segment performance SUV can become in the electric era.
The Cyber Concept draws its lineage from two defining chapters of MG history: the relentless pursuit of speed embodied by the legendary EX181 land speed record car, and MG's ongoing spirit of innovation. It expands the definition of performance, proving that driving thrill is no longer confined to low-slung sports cars but can be experienced across versatile, modern lifestyles.
With powerful proportions, an athletic stance, and sculpted surfaces, the Cyber Concept unites everyday premium utility with genuine driving enjoyment across city streets and long distances alike.
“Great design begins with people, not products. Technology and innovation are essential, but they can be shared. Character cannot," stated Jozef Kabaň, Vice President of Global Design. "The future of automotive design is about creating cars with a strong identity that people instantly recognize and emotionally connect with... Our role is to inspire people and create products that enrich their journey through life.”
Innovation takes center stage at the MG stand through the Future Motion Show, where state-of-the-art robots demonstrate MG's advanced competencies in AI, intelligent autonomous driving (utilizing LiDAR, cameras, and specialized sensors), and next-generation connectivity.
Visitors to Goodwood can also experience the breadth of MG’s rapidly expanding production range, highlighting six of the brand’s most innovative current models:
Together, these concepts and production vehicles stand as a testament to over 100 years of MG ingenuity, proving that the brand's next century looks every bit as exciting as its last.
