You're the kind of person who makes big plans, wants to do big things and lives for adventure. Your want something that's not even out there yet. Something like a small car with all the best bits of a bigger one. The Ignis is a little car for big dreamers like you. Its a compact and efficient city car with fun, distinctive styling. Its got an adventurous 4x4 spirit and is packed with technology like smartphone connectivity and the Suzuki ALLGRIP 4 wheel drive system (ALL GRIP models only).
The Ignis has classic sleek and bold Suzuki looks, with a unique, one-of-a-kind design. It’s easy to make it your own with the option to personalise the colour of everything from your interior door handles to the front grille. Mixing size and style to brilliant effect, it’s a style statement like no other. The prominent wheel arches and muscular bodywork give the Ignis a sporty and imposing stance, while details such as LED daytime running lights and chrome trim add a touch of class. Base models weigh in at just 810kg.The cabin of the Ignis is spacious. With such a short bonnet front visibility is good. SZ-T and SZ5 cars get a decidedly Pioneer infotainment system, a 7.0" colour touchscreen, sat-nav, Bluetooth, a DAB radio and smartphone pairing with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - all as standard.
The Ignis offers a generous amount of rear legroom for such a small car and is even capable of seating four adults in complete comfort due to SZ-T models and above offering rear sliding and reclining seats, without compromising headroom. Behind the seats sits approximately 300 litres of boot space, with the SZ3 models offering the most. This is because the higher models offer the rear reclining seats, which in turn reduces the amount of boot space available if the seats are reclined to their furthest-back position. The minimalist cabin features a simple row of switches and two rotating dials in order to control to heating and air-con, leaving the rest of the instruments neatly tucked beneath a carbon-fibre cover.
The Ignis feels agile and nimble as a result of it's low weight and short wheelbase. It’s a delight to drive around town, with the small size, upright driving position and excellent visibility making it perfect for threading through tight gaps. Suzuki offer the Ignis with a 89bhp 1.2-litre four-cylinder ‘Dualjet’ petrol engine, with the option of an innovative 12v mild hybrid system. The standard 1.2 is hardly inefficient, thanks to the small weight it has to pull along. Around town there’s plenty of power to get you about. The Ignis’s 12-volt hybrid system uses a simple belt-driven ‘Integrated Starter Generator’ (which also acts as a starter motor) providing electrical assistance during acceleration. A small battery pack stores the energy from the regenerative brakes. The non-hybrid 1.2-litre engine manages a combined mpg figure of 61.4mpg and emits 104g/km of CO2. The hybrid manages a slightly better combines mpg figure of 65.7mpg and emits 97g/km of CO2.
The New Ignis is equipped with some seriously effective protection as standard.
