MG Motor UK is making a bold statement at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing two cutting-edge electric vehicles (EVs) that significantly advance the brand's technological capabilities. The sleek MG IM5 executive saloon and MG IM6 SUV are designed for drivers seeking top-tier electric performance, intuitive technology, and enhanced safety, comfort, and entertainment.
The "IM" designation stands for Intelligence in Motion, highlighting a new era of automotive technology and design for MG. David Allison, Head of Product and Planning for MG, commented on the unveiling:
"MG has already made EV ownership exciting and accessible with models like the MG Cyberster convertible leading the way. Now, with the MG IM series, we're focused on delivering technology leadership and innovation, connecting with customers who aspire to experience the future, today."
The MG IM5 Long Range boasts an impressive range of up to 441 miles on a single charge, thanks to its 100 kWh battery and new 800V architecture. This advanced system allows for an ultra-fast 10 to 80 percent charge in just 17 minutes. Both the IM5 and IM6 models deliver exhilarating performance, with a digital chassis and powerful electric Hurricane motors. The IM5 accelerates from 0-62mph in a blistering 3.2 seconds, while the IM6 achieves it in 3.5 seconds.

A highlight of the IM cabin is the immersive, ultra-HD 26.3-inch infotainment display, complemented by a 10.5-inch touchscreen. All models feature a stunning panoramic roof and a bespoke 20-speaker audio system, including four innovative in-ceiling Sky Speakers for a rich, full sound. Double-layer laminated windows throughout ensure exemplary cabin refinement.
MG is launching six IM models in the UK, offering choices of 75kWh and 100kWh batteries, as well as single and dual motor options.

MG Cyberster Black: The acclaimed Cyberster convertible returned in a sophisticated new "Cyberster Black" finish. This luxurious black paint incorporates ultra-fine glass particles, creating a subtle sparkle that comes to life when in motion, achieved through a premium process typically reserved for luxury vehicles. Designed by Jozef Kaban, MG’s Vice President of SAIC Design, the Cyberster Black features sleek chrome details and an all-black interior for a powerful visual statement.
MG Cyber X Concept: Unveiled as a dramatic design concept, the MG Cyber X reveals a new direction for the brand's design language. This compact, all-electric urban explorer embodies the creative spirit of MG’s 'Cyber' sub-brand, blending rugged styling with a city-focused edge. With its matte grey finish and pop-up headlights, the Cyber X features a strong silhouette and confident stance. As a concept, the Cyber X celebrates MG’s design potential, offering a glimpse into the future of electric mobility as the brand enters its second century.
