WLMG NISSAN CELEBRATES A MILLION IN QASH
Staff at WLMG Nissan are celebrating the production of Nissan’s one millionth QASHQAI.
The Nissan QASHQAI, one of the UK’s Top 10 best-selling cars, has enjoyed great success since its launch and is one of the best performing models at the Rose Kiln Lane dealership.
The QASHQAI is easily the highest volume car produced in the UK with no other UK built car reaching the million mark in such a short space of time. It is also one of Nissan’s most successful products to date.
Naeem Hanif, Managing Director at WLMG Nissan, said: “Since the QASHQAI launched in 2006, we have seen massive sales of the vehicle. It is definitely one of the most popular Nissan models we have at the dealership. Producing one million in such a short space of time is a fantastic achievement and we’re proud to be part of this success story.”
The QASHQAI’s marriage of distinctive style, practicality and excellent driving dynamics offers an alternative to traditional compact hatchbacks and has captured the imagination of many of its customers.
The highly successful crossover pioneer is available with features such as a distinctive panoramic glass roof that opens up the cabin to create a sense of airiness. This also includes a sunshade which glides into place at the touch of a button should the sun get too warm.
N-tec and Tekna models featuring Nissan Connect, an advanced combined satellite navigation and audio system, provide customers with full mobile phone connectivity backed up with the latest technology for quicker and more reliable navigational calculations. The intuitive system features buttons for the most commonly used functions and a five inch touch screen for rapid navigation through the menu system.
Designed with the driver and safety in mind, QASHQAI models with Nissan Connect also include a colour reversing camera, allowing the easiest possible parking. QASHQAI has also been awarded with a five star rating by EURONCAP – the highest safety rating a vehicle can be awarded with.
Rear seat passengers travel incognito thanks to the standard privacy glass for all windows behind the front doors.
Inside, the QASHQAI features a stylish design to the main dials, which give added clarity and legibility. A drive computer is positioned between the two main dials that display vehicle speed and engine rpm. Its white on black LCD screen shows instantaneous and average fuel consumption, mileage, time, cruise control and speed limiter settings among others, providing the driver with an easy to understand interface.
What’s more, all QASHQAI engines are now compliant with Euro V emissions regulations.
ESP is fitted as standard across the range, adding to the QASHQAI’s reassuring safety equipment. Acenta grade models and above have been enhanced with the inclusion of a standard speed limiter, while the top Tekna grade gains a Bose speaker system.
News of the millionth QASHQAI follows the announcement that the next generation QASHQAI model will be designed, engineered and built in the UK.
